Issue Position

As the COVID-19 global pandemic continues, so does the nation's opioid epidemic. In fact, drug overdoses are spiking during the coronavirus pandemic, rising by roughly 18%.

New York State has had an Opioid crisis for years, our own District Attorney has lead the charge in not only enforcement but awareness of this problem at all levels of government, I along with fellow legislatures here in Orange County have worked to provide local resources,

Sadly it is not enough, and with COVID-19, that crisis has grown in numbers.

Addiction rates have increased, we need to work harder than ever before at all levels of government to get a handle on this skyrocketing crisis, law enforcement, health experts, and educators need to be given the tools they need to combat opioid abuse.

I am committed to fighting in Albany to get the resources we need in the Hudson Valley.
